StoryAbout
Date of death: September 9, 2020 Suzuki Toshimitsu's son's twitter: https://twitter.com/aymsn62884537 Suzuki Toshimitsu was the founder, president, and representative director of the now defunct ARTMIC. Suzuki Toshimitsu was the founder, president, and representative director of studio ARTMIC. Following the massive falling-out between ARTMIC and Youmex, ARTMIC produced Bubblegum Crash, in cooperation with AIC, which is a sequel series based on the original planned ending of Bubblegum Crisis on their own, without Youmex This led to Youmex suing ARTMIC after the three episodes were produced, resulting in the Bubblegum Crisis franchise being put in legal limbo until the late-1990s. Following ARTMIC's bankruptcy, debts payments were shifted to Anime International Company (AIC), with AIC being the ones held responsible. As a result, AIC won most of ARTMIC's IP, with Youmex being absorbed back into Toshiba EMI. Suzuki Toshimitsu during this time had actually ran away, and started illicitly selling off company assets. During production of Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, the president who had disappeared showed up at one of AIC's offices (either the AIC DIGITAL Bldg or AIC South Bldg), demanding that AIC should give him money. When AIC declined to give him money, the president brought a bunch a Yakuza to AIC's offices, demanding that this time they better give them money. AIC proceeded to call the police, and the following Yakuza were arrested, though Toshimitsu Suzuki was able to escape, and hadn't been seen since. In September 2020, Toshimitsu Suzuki's son opened a twitter account, with the main goal of answering question about his father or ARTMIC. On September 9 2020, Toshimitsu Suzuki's son announced that on Twitter that his father had passed away.
