Birth Place: Iwate Prefecture, Japan Zodiac: Pisces Gege Akutami is a pen name. A Jump reader since he was a kid and a big fan of Bleach, Akutami went to audiovisual school and has been storyboarding since high school. He was previously an assistant to Yasuhiro Kano on Kiss x Death. In 2016 Akutami participated in Shonen Jump's Golden Future Cup contest with the one-shot Nikai Bongai Barabarujura. He stated that he was influenced by Yoshihiro Togashi, Masashi Kishimoto, Yusuke Murata and Tite Kubo. He also stated Jujutsu Kaisen takes influences from Shin Seiki Evangelion. Mizuki Yoda was once an assistant on Jujutsu Kaisen.
