Murano Moribi (real name Satou Mamoru, 佐藤守) was born September 5, 1941 in the city of Dalian, China, but after the war, he ended up in Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan. He was a well known animator, character designer, screenwriter and mangaka. After being hospitalised in January of 2011, he passed away due to heart failure in March.
