Gender: Male Akihito Yoshitomi is a Japanese manga artist from Miyazaki Prefecture, born on 5 September 1970. His most known work is "Eat-Man" (イートマン), which received two anime adaptations and later a manga sequel titled "Eat-Man: The Main Dish". Other of his works that also received anime adaptations were "Ray" and "Blue Drop". The first "Eat-Man" anime was made by Studio Deen and produced while the manga was still debuting its first chapters in the magazine Dengeki Comic Gao!, with its first volume being published at the premiere of the anime. The concept for the first episode of the anime was made by Akihito Yoshitomi himself. The following year after the end of the first anime, "Eat-Man" gets a second adaptation by the same studio, now being more faithful to the source material. During high school, Akihito Yoshitomi participated in a Shounen Jump newcomer manga contest judged by Akira Toriyama, but his work was not selected or mentioned in the magazine. While still in high school, he began his career as an artist illustrating the science fiction light novel "Pangea" (パンゲア), from 1989 to 1991. In 1991 he began his career as a manga artist by publishing his first original work, "Loan Knight" (ローンナイト). In 1994, he was invited to illustrate the booklet for the Super Famicom JRPG "Illvanian no Shiro" (イルバニアンの城), and while publishing "Eat-Man", he also did the character design for the PS1 science fiction action game "Cybernetic EMPIRE" in 1999. Akihito Yoshitomi regularly uploads videos to his YouTube channel, and adheres to posting his drawing process (both real-time and time-lapsed), and more recently, the creation of his manga "24-ku no Hanako-san" (Hanako of the 24th Ward) which was serialized in the Champion Red manga magazine. Akihito Yoshitomi has also worked drawing some one-shot manga and doujinshis with yuri and yaoi content. He loves sci-fi, and his biggest inspirations are Katsuhiro Otomo, Masamune Shirow, Shinichi Hoshi and Yasutaka Tsutsui. He also likes to read "Sherlock Holmes". Akihito Yoshitomi is also a heavy metal and progressive rock fan, with his favorite band being Yes. Twitter: @yoshi_akihito Instagram: @akihitoyoshitomi0905 YouTube: AKIHITO YOSHITOMI
