Background

Gundam Pilot Retsuden: Soukyuu no Yuusha-tachi began serialization in Comic Japan (コミックジャパン), which was discontinued after its first issue. The second chapter was published in the RPG Magazine Great (RPGマガジングレイト), which was also discontinued. The third chapter went unpublished until the tankoubon was released with a newly drawn fourth chapter.
