Synopsis

A hotel is a living thing. Love and joy, sadness and hate, and even betrayal; all contained within these walls. It is also a metropolis. Beauty parlor and jewelry store, restaurant and pharmacy, hospital and shoeshine. Everything you need to live is here. The Room Key is all-powerful. You can use it to buy food, jewelry, and to clean your clothes, all without a single reach of the wallet. As a new morning comes, the being continues beating. Background

Hotel won the 33rd Shogakukan Manga Award for the general category in 1988 and received a live-action drama adaptation which aired from 1990 to 2002. The series had its first two parts published in English in the educational publication Mangajin, where it was included in issues 1 and 2 (June-July 1990) and again in issues 30 and 31 (October-November 1993).
