Background
Aoi Hitsuji no Yume initially was published as a three chapter long series than ran in the shoujo magazine Bessatsu Hana to Yume in 1999. In 2006 Takeno started writing the continuation in BL magazine Karen, but in the first volume that was re-published under BL label, in the afterword she states that although it seems to her that she meant to write a direct sequel, she doesn't intend to, since she "no longer remembers what the story was supposed to be about at all." Instead, she states that Steal Moon is a direct continuation—takes place a few years later, and the main characters Lahti and Kai appear there, as well as Shiki—and Aoi Hitsuji no Yume story starting in second volume is a side story of it. Aoi Hitsuji no Yume has been published in English as Blue Sheep Reverie by Digital Media Publishing under Juné imprint since July 29, 2009, and digitally by Media Do International/Nihonbungeisha since November 7, 2017.
