Background
Hi no Tori: Reimei-hen is the original version Hi no Tori, serialized in Manga Shounen from 1954 to 1955. The series was left unfinished after 9 chapters due to publisher Gakudosha going bankrupt. It was not included in the Tezuka Osamu Manga Daizenshuu collection, but has been included as an extra in subsequent reissues of the Shoujo Club version of Hi no Tori.
