Synopsis
After the first moon landing, many people's tolerance for fantasy faded in favor of gritty realism. Nobody has been more keenly aware of this shift than Imari Daisuke, once a celebrated film director now shelved for being too avant-garde. When a strange fortune teller tells him to visit a lavish home, promising that he can live there, Imari obliges but is met by the enigmatic Count Alucard. The Count has a mission for Imari: become a director of life and utilize his unique skillset to cause bizarre incidents, allowing the spirit of mystery to return to Earth. To this end, he is provided with I.L, a perfect actress who can completely change her appearance by entering a magic coffin. Together, the duo takes on clients in need of a body double—though they often end up providing services that do not exactly meet the client's expectations. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
