Synopsis

In a world where 40% of humanity awakens to unique abilities, magical beasts and dungeons are everywhere, making the adventurer profession one of the most lucrative paths. Sasha, the leader of the team Sacred, was on the brink of being promoted to S-rank adventurer. On the same day, another person was also confirmed to achieve S-rank—a boy named Haise. Haise was once a member of Sacred, an F-rank adventurer who had been expelled from the team by Sasha. Possessing an unusual ability, Haise struggled to understand its nature. Misunderstood and abandoned by his childhood friend Sasha, he was cast out of the team under the pretense that "Haise couldn't keep up." The true reason behind his expulsion was Sasha's desire to protect him—she didn't want Haise to die while adventuring. However, Haise refused to give up. Even on his own, he worked tirelessly to continue his journey as an adventurer. One day, Sasha deceived Haise into venturing into a forest inhabited by a dragon, where he was nearly killed. Betrayed by the trust he had placed in Sasha, Haise vowed never to believe in her again and resolved to grow stronger as an adventurer on his own. At 16, both Haise and Sasha were recognized as S-Rank adventurers. Haise sought to become the strongest adventurer alone, while Sasha aimed to be the best alongside her companions. This is the story of two childhood friends who once walked the same path but diverged onto separate journeys—paths that might one day cross again. (Source: Shousetsuka ni Narou, translated)
