Background
Nonnonbaa to Ore won the Angoulême International Comics Festival Prize for Best Album (Golden Wildcat) in 2007, the most famous award for a comical work in France. The series was published in English as NonNonBa by Drawn & Quarterly on May 22, 2012. The publisher's translation of the manga was nominated for the Eisner Award in the Best U.S. Edition of International Material—Asia category in 2013. It was also published in France by Cornelius Editions in 2006; and in Brazilian Portuguese by Devir on March 19, 2018.
