Synopsis

How much chaos can one meddling, overly worried father cause? In the case of Koutarou Sasaki, middle-aged widower consumed by his extreme worry for his teenage daughter Noriko, the answer is a lot. Noriko herself is only trying to live a normal high school life together with her boyfriend Kitano—a seemingly impossible task in the face of the increasingly bizarre incidents and situations her father's antics cause, all in the name of keeping his daughter off the delinquent path! Background

Otousan wa Shinpaishou was originally published as a one-shot in the May 1983 issue of Ribon before official serialization began in the November 1984 issue. The series was adapted to a live-action drama series which aired for 5 episodes from April 12, 1994 to May 17, 1994.
