Synopsis
Akira is a young boy excited to begin his summer vacation in the tropical region of Alola. But despite being related to the region's resident professor, his neverending school work and chores leave him with no time to learn about the creatures surrounding this new environment—Pokémon! So when Dr. Kukui shows him a battle between two Pokémon, he is immediately fascinated, especially admiring Iwanko, a Rock-type fighter that seems willing to surpass its limits. When Akira expresses his trust in Iwanko's strong willpower in another fight, a mysterious gemstone on its neck begins to shine and unleashes what Dr. Kukui recognizes to be a "Z-Move." As Akira resolves to become a Pokémon Trainer, Dr. Kukui advises him to begin island-visiting with Iwanko and his assistant Mana all around Alola. However, not long after starting his horizon-broadening journey, Akira and his companions soon encounter the mysterious and malicious Team Kings. What is this gang's agenda, and why do they seek to capture Iwanko? [Written by MAL Rewrite]
